Fears & Phobias
Unlearn your fear for a happier life
Phobias cover a vast variety of objects and issues, from a phobia of spiders to a fear of flying. A phobic reaction feels just like a
panic attack, in response to the object or issue of your phobia — your heart beats faster, you feel tense, short of breath, dizzy and nauseous...
Most sufferers realise that this fear is irrational and disruptive to living a full and happy life, but it still seems impossible to stop that overwhelming phobic reaction.
Phobias are simply a fear of fear. You experience a phobic panic attack when you expect to feel afraid or think about the fear involved in facing your phobic issue. You are afraid of experiencing that fear.
Phobias are often caused by an earlier event or series of events in life, when your subconscious mind 'learnt' to be afraid of a particular experience. So now whenever you are faced with that phobic experience, your subconscious mind triggers a phobic reaction to protect you from that fear.
You can resolve or 'unlearn' a phobic fear by learning new ways to manage the fear, and by exploring your previous experiences, allowing your subconcsious mind to realise that there is nothing to fear.
